  1. Oberon-A is a freely-distributable Oberon-2 compiler. Oberon-2 is a
  2. modern object-oriented language designed by Niklaus Wirth, the creator
  3. of Pascal and Modula-2, and Hanspeter Mössenböck. Oberon-A is an
  4. implementation of the language for the Amiga computer, ported from a
  5. compiler written by Niklaus Wirth.

  7. The archive contains the compiler, a pre-link utility, a linker (BLink)
  8. and a programmer's environment.  A complete interface to the Amiga
  9. operating system (version 2.04) and a collection of library modules in
  10. source code form is provided. Documentation is in AmigaGuide and plain
  11. ASCII formats. A text editor is *not* included. The archive also 
  12. contains the complete source code for the compiler, associated utilities
  13. and the run-time library.

  15. Oberon-A requires an Amiga with 1MB and Kickstart 1.3.  A hard disk is
  16. highly recommended.

  18. This is release 1 of Oberon-A and is BETA software.  If you don't like
  19. buggy software, wait for a future release.
